Welcome to ArchiveSend! This document explains what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and how your data and files are handled. We’ve kept it clear and simple — no legalese, no tricks.

1. Your Content & Ownership
You own everything you upload or share through ArchiveSend. We don’t claim any rights to your files. We never use your content for training AI, selling to others, or doing anything weird.
You grant us permission to use your files only as needed to operate the service — for example, to zip a file package or generate a download link you request. That’s it.
2. Storage & Metadata
We don’t store your files on our servers. You bring your own storage — like Wasabi, Backblaze, or Amazon S3 — and your files stay there, fully under your control.
What we do store:

File metadata (filename, size, timestamps)

Link data (who downloaded what, and when)

Your account info (name, email, etc.)
If you cancel, we’ll retain your metadata for a short period in case you come back, and then delete it.
3. Canceling Your Account
If you cancel, you’ll lose access to ArchiveSend’s interface at the end of your billing period. That includes uploading new files, managing links, and viewing download logs.
Your files remain in your storage account, untouched. You can still access them directly through your provider.
4. Privacy & Analytics
We care about your privacy. We:

Don’t train AI on your content

Don’t run third-party ads
We do use analytics tools like Plausible (and possibly Google Analytics) to understand product usage and improve the experience. These tools collect anonymous usage data — not your personal files or identifiers.
We may use advertising platforms to promote ArchiveSend. We won’t share or sell your personal data to third parties to do that.
5. Link Security
ArchiveSend lets you add password protection and expiration dates to links. These are great tools — but like any link sent over email or text, they can be shared. We recommend treating your links with the same care you would with sensitive emails.
For extra protection, send the password and the link separately.
6. We’re Not Your Backup
ArchiveSend is a delivery tool — not a storage service. Your files stay in your storage provider’s bucket. If you delete them there, they’re gone.
Please make your own backups if your files are important.
7. Storage Provider Disclaimer
You’re responsible for any fees charged by your storage provider. ArchiveSend doesn’t control your storage plan, pricing, or file retention policies.
8. What You Can’t Upload
Please don’t upload or share:

Illegal content

Malware, ransomware, or viruses

Harassment, abuse, or threats

Copyrighted material you don’t have rights to

Anything that breaks local or international laws
We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate this policy.
9. Legal Stuff
Limitation of Liability
We’ll do our best to keep ArchiveSend running smoothly, but we’re not liable for things like lost profits, missed deadlines, or data loss — especially since you control your storage. Use the service at your own risk.
Arbitration Clause
If there’s a legal dispute, you agree to resolve it through binding arbitration in Sacramento, California, rather than a lawsuit. No jury trials or class actions.
Modifications
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make big changes, we’ll notify you in advance.
