Our Story
Why can’t file transfer tools respect photographers and their work?
Ash Alexander asked herself that question more times than she could count.
Ash is a Los Angeles–based photographer and commercial lighting tech. She’s worked with iconic brands like Nike, Beats by Dre, Adidas, and Amazon Music, and her photography has been featured by Interscope, the FADER, and Out Magazine. Like many creatives, she was tired of handing over her files to platforms with unclear privacy policies, rising subscription costs, and vague terms about how her work might be used.
She wanted something better:
No AI training
No compression
No mystery servers
No nonsense
Just a clean, professional way to send files — where creatives own their own storage and control their own work.
So she called her brother.
Ian Alexander isn’t a photographer — but he’s spent more than a decade building software companies from scratch, including tools used by thousands of creative professionals and small businesses. When Ash shared her idea, Ian saw the potential right away: a file transfer tool that felt as good to use as WeTransfer, but where photographers brought their own storage, kept full control, and didn’t have to worry about hidden costs or hidden terms.
Together, they sketched out a product that would be:
Simple — Upload, link, done.
Trustworthy — Your files live in your storage, not ours.
Affordable — One low monthly price, no matter how much you transfer.
They brought in longtime collaborator Garrett Milster, a seasoned developer who’s helped launch and grow multiple successful software products alongside Ian. With Ash’s creative direction, Ian’s product experience, and Garrett’s technical expertise, ArchiveSend was born.
Today, ArchiveSend exists for one reason: to give photographers and creatives the power to share their work without giving up ownership, privacy, or peace of mind.
